Community Foundation Of Henderson County

Ron just completed a six year term on the board of directors for the Community Foundation of Henderson County. This amazing non-profit organization helps people who care make lasting contributions to causes that matter. The most rewarding part was helping with the scholarship interviews each spring. Our county is fortunate to have some many talented, and determined young graduates. About $250,000 scholarships are funded by Community Foundation’s generous donors each year. These are almost all endowed funds, so they will grow and be available forever.

Ron’s involvement in the Communications Committee led to his work on the Baker Barber Photo Collection. This long-term project focuses on scanning, cataloguing and promoting this fantastic archive of some 40,000 images taken by a family of photographers, documenting the Henderson County area from the 1880s to the 1907s.
